Use everyday Chrome
EvoX uses its own separate browser environment by default. When a task needs websites you are already signed in to, switch to Take over my everyday Chrome in Settings. This mode depends on the Playwright Extension; it is not an EvoX side-chat browser extension.

Choose which browser the agent uses for web tasks.
Choose a browser identity
Open Settings > Cowork > Browser and choose one mode:

Everyday Chrome mode lets EvoX act through your current browser identity. It avoids repeated sign-in, but the task may also reach other tabs and session information in that browser.
Install and connect the extension
- Select Take over my everyday Chrome.
- If Settings reports that the extension is missing, use the provided Chrome Web Store entry to install Playwright Extension.
- Return to EvoX and choose Re-check.
- Start one browser task.
- When Chrome shows the connection page for the first time, choose Allow.
Installation and authorization are separate. Installing the extension does not grant silent connection; Settings shows that consent independently.
One-time authorization
When EvoX can read the connection credential generated by the extension, choose Authorize in Settings. Later browser tasks can connect directly without opening the Chrome approval page every time.
Some machines cannot expose that credential. Browser tasks can still work, but Chrome may ask once at the start of each task. Run one task, choose Allow in Chrome, then return to Settings and re-check.
Turn off and revoke access
Turning authorization off in EvoX only stops EvoX from using the saved credential for silent connection. It does not invalidate the access token inside the extension.
For a full revocation:
- Turn off silent connection in EvoX Settings.
- Open Playwright Extension.
- Regenerate the connection token in the extension.
- Restart any active browser task or EvoX, then re-check the status.
Never put the token in chat, documentation, or screenshots.
What this is not
The extension connects EvoX browser tasks to everyday Chrome. It does not provide a standalone side chat or a one-click “send this tab to EvoX” content extension. For opening pages, switching viewports, and checking local development servers, read Browser.
