Documentação do EvoX/Introduction/Skills and plugins

Skills and plugins

Add reusable workflows, specialized knowledge, and connected tools to EvoX.

Skills and plugins give EvoX the instructions, resources, and tools needed for repeatable work, without requiring the same prompts, templates, and procedures in every conversation.

Existing EvoX desktop demo used temporarily; replace it with a dedicated skills and plugins recording after review.
  • A skill packages instructions and supporting resources for a task or workflow.
  • A plugin is an installable capability bundle that can include skills, connectors, MCP tools, or built-in capabilities.

Use skills for repeatable work

A skill is a reusable workflow that guides EvoX through a particular task and preserves a consistent process and quality bar.

Name and description

Help EvoX decide what the skill does and when to use it.

Instructions

Capture steps, decisions, checkpoints, and output requirements.

Resources

Include templates, examples, references, scripts, and required tools.

Skills work best when a task already has a stable, repeatable method, such as weekly briefs, document reviews, presentations, charts, or writing results into another system.

Build a skill

Turn a recurring task into a dedicated playbook EvoX can use. Good first skills include periodic updates, campaign briefs, meeting follow-up, and work that must follow a consistent format.

  1. Choose a concrete task

Start with repeatable, bounded work whose result is reviewable.

  2. Describe the workflow

Define the goal, inputs, steps, decisions, tools, and completion criteria.

  3. Review and test

Try realistic requests and fix missing steps or ambiguous guidance.

  4. Install and enable

Add the skill to EvoX and feature or share it when appropriate.

Use plugins to connect tools and share workflows

Plugins make related capabilities easier to install, update, and share. EvoX manages installed plugins, built-in capabilities, and MCP connections in one place.

Plugins

Review installed plugins, connection status, versions, sources, and availability. A plugin can be built in or connected through MCP, and disabling it prevents EvoX from using it.

Apps

Apps connect EvoX to services that require a separate account or authorization. Complete sign-in or configuration before using them in tasks.

Skills directory

The Skills tab lists installed skills, versions, status, descriptions, and usage notes. Search, add, and feature frequently used skills.

Use subagents for specialized work

Subagents are helper agents with specialized responsibilities, context, or tool scope. Add them from the local agent directory so EvoX can delegate suitable subtasks.

Use subagents when work can genuinely run independently or needs distinct expertise, and define each agent's inputs, outputs, and permissions.

Use Hooks for lifecycle events

Hooks run commands when agent lifecycle events occur. EvoX reads Hooks from settings files and can rescan after configuration changes.

Hooks suit logging, validation, notifications, and other deterministic automation. Review command sources, working directories, accessible data, and failure handling before enabling them.

Choose a skill or a plugin

Use a skill for reusable task guidance and a plugin for installing, connecting, or distributing capabilities. Plugins can contain skills, and skills can use plugin tools. Use subagents for specialized agents and Hooks for deterministic lifecycle commands.
